Awards & Accreditation

Maroochy Waters Medical Practice is an Accredited Practice. It was awarded full accreditation by the Australia General Practice Limited (AGPAL). All practices with the Accredited logo must meet a set of Standards that are designed to protect the patient. The Standards cover areas such as:

• Practice Services
• Rights and Needs of Patients
• Quality Assurance and Education
• Practice Administration
• Physical Factors  

These are only a small example of the extensive criteria a practice must meet to achieve Accreditation.

The Standards are set by:

• The Optometrists Association Australia (OAA) for Optometric Practice
• The Royal Australian College of General Practice (RACGP) for General Practice   These professional Colleges involve a wide range of people, including consumers, when it sets the Standards. For more information see: http://www.qip.com.au .
