Massage Therapy
Highly experienced international massage therapist Steve Leavy has been operating out of the Maroochy Waters Medical Practice ever since we moved into our new premises in August 2005.
Having a massage therapist on board our team is an innovative move which sees the doctor’s, where appropriate, recommending their patients to Steve when they believe a patient could gain benefits from receiving massage or reflexology treatments.
It is well known that there are many health benefits of engaging in massage and other holistic therapies but sometimes it can be the medical world versus the holistic world, when of course there are a lot of positives that can be drawn out of working together.
After discovering his natural gift for healing, Leavy has worked as a reflexologist and a masseuse in both England, New Zealand (his place of birth) and now, Australia after arriving in October 2004.
Steve’s love of travel and quest for natural therapy knowledge has taken him to many parts of the world before deciding to call Australia home including Thailand (ITM - Institute of Thai Massage school, Chiang Mai), Spain (reflexology), England (the highly powerful and unusual vertical reflexology developed by English woman Lynne Booth) and Ireland (reiki).
Aside from his association with the Maroochy Waters Medical Practice, Steve also teaches others his massage and reflexology techniques to students at the International College of Esthetics and via private workshops. He is also available to speak and teach privately to groups and individuals about the benefits of reflexology and massage including simple techniques for those who just want to be able to give their friends or family a good foot or hand massage.
