Dr Dean Larkin is a partner/Principal of the Maroochy Waters Medical Practice. Dr Dean Larkin was the first doctor at the centre and has seen many changes within the community of Maroochy Waters . Dr Dean Larkin has also been a Central and Southern Queensland Training Consortium Trainer for over four years. He has worked elsewhere on the Sunshine Coast for many years including Caloundra and Kawana Waters before opening his own practice in Maroochy Waters. Dr Larkin graduated in Otago, New Zealand. His interests include surgery and skin cancer.  Dr Larkin left specialized medical training for a lifestyle change and to start a family and has since then enjoyed a variety of medicine that family general practitioners provide.

   

Dr Ziena Al-Obaidi is a partner/Principal at Maroochy Waters Medical Practice and joined the practice in 2001. She became a partner in 2003. She graduated from Baghdad University. Dr Al-Obaidi is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and holds a certificate of the Australian Medical Council. For over nine years she has worked in a variety of specialist units including gynaecology and obstetrics, paediatrics, geriatrics and rehabilitation medicine. She has a profound interest in women’s health and enjoys counselling and family medicine.

   

Dr Sue Baglow joined the practice in 2001. Dr Sue Baglow is a Central and Southern Queensland Training Consortium Supervisor Trainer for General Practitioner Registrars. Maroochy Waters Medical Practice is very proud to be part of the training of General Practitioners. She has a keen interest in women’s health, aged care and also paediatrics.

   

Dr Chris Robson joined the practice approximately two years ago and is becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He is also a Commissioner of Declarations. He graduated from the University of Queensland in 1991. Dr Robson then worked at Greenslopes Repatriation hospital for nearly three years and then for two years at Nambour General Hospital. He enjoys all areas of general medicine, obstetrics , gynaecology and paediatrics.

 

Dr Paul Sheldon is a general practitioner who has recently joined the practice. He is a UK graduate who has gained a wide experience of general practice over the last 15 years. He moved to Australia in 1995 and then on to Hawkes Bay New Zealand in 1998 where he has been in his own practice for the last seven years. He has now returned to Australia with his family to settle on the Sunshine Coast. As well as his UK General practice qualifications, Dr Sheldon became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General practitioners in 2001. He enjoys all aspects of general medicine.
   

Dr Stuart Marshall is a General Practitioner who has been with the practice since 2004. Dr Marshall graduated at the University of Queensland. He is also a qualified pharmacist whose training was done in the United Kingdom. Dr Marshall practiced in both retail and hospitals as a pharmacist for over twenty years. He has a keen interest in all aspects of general medicine.

 

   

Dr Jodie Bryce worked at Maroochy Waters Medical Practice from 1998 to 2002 and has now rejoined the practice in 2006. She graduated from the University of Queensland in 1993 and worked at Nambour General Practice in 2006. She graduated from the University of Queensland in 1993 and worked at Nambour General Hospital for three years. She became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioner’s in 1999. Dr Bryce worked for years a GP locum in Canada and Ireland, and on returning to Australia, performed GP locums in Brisbane and Sunshine Coast. She enjoys general medicine and family medicine.
   
 

Debbie Tolhurst is the Practice Manager at our surgery. Debbie has been involved in the Medical Industry for 27 years, firstly as an Enrolled Nurse and then progressing to Medical Administration in General Practice on the Sunshine Coast. She held the position of Practice Manager at her previous practice, where she was heavily involved in the planning, development and relocation of the practice, prior to joining us in December 2006. Debbie holds a Certificate IV in Practice Management and has plans for further study in order to achieve her Diploma in Practice Management. 

Dianne Bazley is a member of our reception team. Dianne has been a Medical Receptionist since 2005. Previously, she spent ten years working in the tourist industry. Dianne has exceptional people and reception skills. Her familiar presence at Maroochy Waters Medical Practice gives our patients the comfort and trust that they are looking for. 

 

Lisa Russell has worked as a medical receptionist for 3 years, with the last 6 months as a valued member of Maroochy Waters Medical Practice. Lisa has lived on the Sunshine Coast for most of her life, which therefore has given her a sound knowledge of the local area. Her interpersonal skills are a comfort to patients and her willingness to help people is an asset to her chosen profession.

Sarah Lennon is a member of our reception team. Sarah has been involved in the Medical Industry for approximately 3 years. Her bright and bubbly personality, and her caring and helpful manner make her an asset to any practice. 

Penny Graves is a Registered Nurse/Midwife. She is currently working both at Maroochy Waters Medical Practice and in the Hospital Maternity Unit, enjoying the diversity of both. Penny has worked in various hospitals both in Victoria and Queensland before finally settling in Maternity nursing for the past 10 years.

 

 

Ingrid Dunn is an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse. Ingrid came to our practice as part of her training placement whilst studying to become a nurse. On completion of her training, Ingrid joined Maroochy Waters Medical Practice as a permanent part of our staff. Her dedication, professionalism and heartfelt empathy towards patients makes her an asset to the Nursing Industry and to our practice.

 

 

 

 

 

Melani Kereama has worked at Maroochy Waters Medical Practice for over 7 years. She is a senior member of the reception team and is currently completing Certificate IV in Practice Management through the University of New England. She holds a first aid certificate and has attended numerous medical seminars over the last 10 years.

 

Staff Education

All doctors, the Practice Manager, Nurses and receptionists undergo constant training and attend educational workshops to provide their patients with the highest level of services available. Maroochy Waters Medical Practice works as a team and each member is committed to patient health and satisfaction.
